A night not to be missed, jam packed with Blues talent from far and wide
A night not to be missed! Our monthly Blues Nights host a wide and exciting variety of Blues bands and soloists from all around NZ and afar.
Next Monthly Blues night will be held on the 7th July
Andy Genge
One of the top blues based guitar players in the country, Andy is renown for his good ear and performance wisdom. If you want to see a top notch guitar player in your home town then come to see him work his magic onstage.
Adam McGrath
Adam is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. He has a natural ability to turn any situation into a song. Described by RNZ as a “National Treasure” and the Herald as “NZ’s toughest minded song writer”. He has shared stages with and opened for the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Steve Earle, Old Crow Medicine Show, Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes and many more. He is constantly on the move, so the CBC feels lucky to have secured him for our next Club Night.
Steven Gill Quartet
Steven Gill Quartet has been performing in Ōtautahi in one form or another since 2017. Bandleader Steven Gill draws on his love of jazz and blues from varied iterations to inform the direction of the repertoire. For their show as featured by the Christchurch Blues Club, you'll hear influences from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Peter Green, Bill Frissel, John Scofield and Grant Green being represented throughout, accompanied by the outstanding musicians Shaun Burke, Glynn Macdonald, Dan Pawsey and special guest vocalist Stephanie McEwin who will perform some vocal numbers with the band.
